Dude, do you know someone there in somalia? Are you an adventurer or are you naive? Maybe a naive adventurer.
Do you have any idea what can and probably will happen to you if you just go there by yourself? People will see you as an irresistable opportunity. Not to mention that In a country where you can buy an ak47 for about $15 on the black market almost everybody will be armed. So, come to think of it, even with a trusted guide, his life would be in danger too. :ecouteurs:
So let me take back what I said about knowing someone. The only way I would go there would be with an organisation.

Yup i have read like half of the FAQ, im some where in the middle of Section C - What are the myths of capitalist economics? i think i get an APN patch when im done with it HAHA ;), but i have read many anarchists writers and history books over the course of my life, but this site suggested it and well its cleared quite a bit for me and helped me critically think about quite a bit relating to the circle A

I think grippster is thinking "No-Government" = anarchy or anarchism, i was suggesting that with that definition of anarchism, well new jersey fits thats description right now... maybe it would be a shorter distance for him to travel for his definition of anarchy :ecouteurs:

So where are you actually from blacknova? You obviously have a keen interest in what's happening in chile, yet you're not from chile. Am I correct?
Oh and yes, I think you may well get a patch. I think some people here have already received theirs :lmao:

No offense, but I think people are a bit naive if they think they can't go to mogudishu, sit down at a bar, have a drink and not get their arm chopped off.
to me jershey is more nihilistic. anarchy is a system. jershey shore is just a mess. I think thats the big misconception of the public when it comes to anarchy, that its nihilism. most people dont even know what nihilism means.

its not fair to buy into the popular belief that people arent making a life for themselves in somalia. somalia has been w/o an effective government for 20 years! its naive to think that somalia is in a declining state. somalia is an anarcho-capitalist country but still anarcho!

blacknova- i live in america, I have gotten hassled for sqauting before. Its very hard here to just plop down and live. everything is owned and controlled. every bush. i could walk out into the middle of nowwhere on some BMO land, but what fun is that?

But there is still a power structure and people being oppressed and forced into submission. Its not where I'd necessarily want to live.

Haha I remember hearing about a radio show in Somalia that hosted a contest for young boys, first prize was a computer, next five runner ups got an ak47 each.

How is it not in a declining state? It is a militarized society, the poverty rates are well over 70%(about 40% live in extreme poverty), there are constantly armed conflicts for political power and Somalia is classified as hipc/ldc/lpicus(highly indebted poor country, least developed country and low income country under stress), theres gender inequality, hiv/aids. I could go on. Yes, you can go sit down in bar and have a beer in Mogadishu, but you`d be one of the lucky few that can afford it.

You should read this part of An Anarchist FAQ - Section F-Is "Anarcho-capitalism a type of anarchism?"

The first worlds of the info are: In a word, no.

HAHA I’m thinking if Mit Romey wins the presidential election in the coming days in the USA, maybe he will cut FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) wich will probably help finance the rebuilding and help peeps out there. So if Mit wins as hes said before that he would cut FEMA, maybe he will cut FEMA and well the outer areas of the city would probably be abandoned, I’m thinking perfect place to squat for some…

Yeah i don't think he will win...

    Somalia land of anarchy

It's the ultimate failed state - a land of war, banditry and piracy. And after Bin Laden's death, its civil war with Islamist extremists has gained even greater importance to the West. But what is it like to live in the anarchy of Somalia?

Reporter Peter Greste goes where no western journalist has been to witness a crisis that threatens millions of lives. He ventures through the streets of Mogadishu, dubbed the most dangerous city in the world, to meet those who attempt to live amid a deadly civil war.

Greste visits refugee camps - among them the world's largest - as well as hospitals and markets along the frontline to witness the fighting at first hand.
