I want to get into the genre D-Beat. I really like the raw sound of it. I know this is a stupid topic but I figured I would get more replies this way. Anyway, what are some good D-Beat bands? I already like Discharge but that all I know of so far... Thanks.

I think it's amazing that discharge wrote music so good that every band that copied them also sounds amazing

I like how everyone instantly thinks Disclose when the genre of D-beat is mentioned I dont think they imitate, they keep the same drum beat but put there own spin to it. Both these bands are the closest imitators to Discharge I've heard, everything from vocals to song structure:

Deathcharge (first two sevens are the closest to Discharge I've ever heard)
Final BloodBath (Japanese Band Close second)

D-beat is a very convoluted genre that can be interchangeable with raw punk so long as they keep the "d-beat"

Haha yeah I mean just look at the Gravestone that Mar posted,
I think thats why our singer hates the term D-beat, because our drummers usually uses one

Disclose has got to be one of my favorite bands period. Up there with Darkthrone, Doom and Amebix for sure.

...well, d-beat is not convulded genre at all... The thing is, that d-beat is not a genre, but THE SPECIFIED WAY TO PLAY THE DRUM. That's all.

    D-Beat Bands?

I'm really getting into the D-Beat style of Crust. I always liked Discharge but I heard some other D-Beat songs and really like it. What are some really good bands?

    Re: D-Beat Bands?

i'm not sure, but there might be a similar thread around...

although i'm not that into generic d-beat, some decent ones:

    wolfbrigade (former wolfpack)
    disfear
    disclose (quite raw crust)

most bands with a 'dis-' at the beginning, never liked the stoopid names, but well...

i'm sure there are lots of other people that want to contribute to this poor list...

oh, and by the way: http://crust-demos.blogspot.com/

    viewtopic.php?f=31&t=5633&p=38558&hilit=favorite+d+beat#p38558

The ones i listen to most atm:

    Mob 47
    Totalitär
    Avskum
    older Anti Cimex
    older Disfear
    Diatribe
    Disclose
    Shitlickers
    Deathraid
    Varukers
    Framtid (crusty raw shit!)
    Crucifix

You know, I never really thought of myself as a "D-Beat person", but after listing the bands I do enjoy and listen to on a regular basis (listed above) I guess I kinda am.

    Re: D-Beat Bands?

    Skitsystem
Martyrdod (D-Beat/Crust + Black Metal, one of the best bands around IMO)
Dishammer (also D-Beat/Crust + Black Metal, but in much more of a "old school" way)
    Driller Killer
    Warcollapse
    Warvictims
    Decontrol
    Krigshot

    there are a few...
