So, recently, I’ve been trying to get off devices more and read, but I don’t know any good punk/anarchist literature. I’ve read 1984 and I’m currently reading brave new world, but I’m looking for more suggestions. Does anyone have any recommendations? Also I’ve read Punk rock Jesus and V for Vendatta, but those were more for fun then to be informed. Looking for anything really.
    Thank you

Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. If you enjoyed 1984 and Brave New World then Fahrenheit would be similar.

    Okay, here's a few recommendations!

    • Bakunin, Michail: God and the State (1882) ISBN: 9781535007030
(Read for free in The Anarchist Library)
This was one of the first books on anarchism I read. It starts off pretty easy but get a bit complicated down the line, but it's always good to have some knowledge of the old ones (Bakunin, Proudhon, Goldman, Kropotkin, Malatesta etc).

Sort of like a collection of texts to wrap our heads around some parts of modern day anarchism.

Not specifically about anarchism, but written by an anarchist about how this system creates bullshit jobs (not bullshit as in repetetive, hard or dirty, but as in pointless - made up in a system where everyone has to work no matter what), what those jobs do to our soul and how we got there.

    • Guérin, Daniel: Anarchism From Theory To Practice (1970) ISBN: 9780853451754
(Read for free in The Anarchist Library)
A brief overview of anarchism in practice during its uprising and during the Russian, Italian and Spanish revolutions respectively.

Bakunin's God and the State is probably one of the best places to start from.

If you want some punk literature, try Nick Blinko's (Rudimentary Peni's git n vox) Primal Screamer.

    Let's say more fiction:
    Leo Tolstoy - Ressurection
    Fyodor Dostojevski - Demons
Aldous Huxley - Ape and Essence
    Doris Lessing - Golden Notebook
    Anything from B. Traven
    Ivan Turgeniev - Hunters Sketches

    From anarchist theory:

Emma Goldmann - Anarchism and other essays
Errico Malatesta - Anarchy (you can find free audio books at LibriVox)
Peter Kropotkin - Conquest of bread (also LibriVox)
Max Stirner - Ego and his own (more philosophical then theoretical)
Peter Gelderloos - Anarchy works, How non violence protects the state, etc

I you desire for more titles, just ask. Would be more than happy to help

To add on Ungov's remark, if you like Orwell you'll lime Homage to Catalonia, Nothing and No one in Paris and London.

Always some antropological titles come good for cold winter days
