Punk Rock "Gangs"

I've heard of and seen a few out here in the inland empire/los angeles area. At one show I went to they were even 'banging'/'repping their set' out on the street, yelling out their retarded sect in unison. Then a fight broke out between some girls and everyone ran over to cheer on the combatants. It was very 'punk' of everyone.

But really, what do you really expect from a bunch of kids, who don't really understand what's beyond the music and image.

In SF theres Scum Fucks but I dont really know if youd consider them a gang or just a bunch of violent drunk dudes. In Abq NM there were Duke City Wrecking Crew, Duke City Skum Bags and Duke City Skins and Im sure a whole lot of others that have come and gone. Maybe its just cause the NM scene is starved for belonging and acceptance. hmm.

 

i've been traveling across the southern and western united states this last year, (8/2010-8/2011).. i have seen some dumb shit in my life but when i was in LA hitting up shows, (deviated instinct, hellbastard, wormrot) i saw a brawl at every show, (and i do mean brawl, always 1 guy fending off at least 5 others) that took the cake .. i was warned by my friends from the area to watch out for the crusty gangs, i was baffled... i know i'm old and old school.. in my early punk days we all traded vinyl or made each other comp. tapes.. getting to know any 'punk' we didn't know, or that just got to town... and in LA i had to watch my back so i didn't get my ass kicked for not being from 'their' turf..... i think viciouscesar! said it best "

 

I've seen the one who goes by the name of "Pitbull" at a few shows around the Boston area and he's just another hot-headed hardcore kid with the wrong attitude. This shit scene is full of them.

For 'gangs', there's really only the washed-up, "ex-FSU", tough guys and gals that are into this butchered hardcore scene around Boston. Other than that, there's just a few groups of crusties and punks that hang in groups at shows. It's pretty lame considering Disrupt, being from Boston themselves, titled an EP "Smash Divisions" and everyone seems to hate everyone else besides their closest friends. :/

 

over here in California there are a numerous amount of punk gangs.
In LA there's a few.
In Sylmar and Pacoima there is an intense rivalry between the two cities.
Gangs in North Hollywood, Unholy, starts a lot of shit for stupid reasons
like slamming. This needs to end now and we need to unite. And anyone that
starts shit needs to be thrown out of the kick back or the show. Please help
me on this out reach for change.

How can you kick out the gangbanger punk wannabees at the punk gatherings? In some areas, they are the ones putting on the main attraction. Capitalist scum, gathering their customers under the guise of punk. (Can you take a wild guess as to what their merchandise is?) Putting on a pretty face for the DIY traveling bands who never stick around long enough to realize what is really going on. They use the bands and the real punx like a tool, who don't care to have a clue cause if they did, they'd be the one kicked out.
Just how DIY punk can being in a gang be? Is it not directly opposite?
