    I've read a lot of stuff about this case. Mumia Abu-Jamal categorically denies shooting the police officer. Even if he did shoot the officer (and I am not saying that he did) there appears to be a lot of 'reasonable doubt' and incorrect 'direction' from lawyers and judges associated with the case that in reality should have meant that the case, at best been dismissed and at worst, a life sentence, not the death penalty.
