    Se trata de Roberto Gajardo Rubilar, aprehendido por detectives en su domicilio de la población Nocedal, en Puente Alto.

    Un hombre acusado de ser un fabricante de bombas del tipo usado en la serie de atentados explosivos anarquistas indagados desde 2005 en Santiago fue detenido ayer por la Fiscalía Metropolitana Sur, a la que hace 23 días se le traspasó la indagatoria de dichos ataques luego que la Fiscalía Oriente fuera relevada, por orden del titular del Ministerio Público Sabas Chahuán.

    El detenido es ROBERTO GAJARDO RUBILAR (30), quien fue localizado por la Brigada de Investigaciones Policiales Especiales (BIPE) de Investigaciones en su domicilio de la población Nocedal, en Puente Alto.
    Al momento del arresto se le encontraron tres extintores con pólvora, dos de ellos listos para ser detonados, según informó el subprefecto Pedro Silva, jefe de la BIPE Metropolitana. A las características similares a las bombas usadas en los atentados estos artefactos agregaban tornillos, para provocar esquirlas y agravar el daño causado con la explosión, planteó Silva.

    El jefe policial afirmó que la manipulación de estos elementos se realizaba en presencia de cuatro menores de edad.

    La evidencia hallada en Puente Alto incluye otros implementos para preparar bombas, como azufre y papel aluminio.

    Las pruebas fueron consideradas "muy alentadoras" por el jefe de la Fiscalía Regional Metropolitana Sur, Alejandro Peña, quien anticipó que en el caso de Gajardo se invocará la ley que sanciona las conductas terroristas. De ser condenado, el sospechoso arriesga una pena de cinco a diez años de cárcel.

    Hasta la BIPE también llegaron, como testigos, la pareja del imputado, Claudia López Cárdenas, y otros familiares.

    En 2005 ya había sido arrestado cuando estuvo a punto de dispararle con una escopeta a un carabinero del OS-9 que intentaba aprehenderlo en virtud de una orden judicial que lo acusaba de amenazas, agresiones y disparos contra vecinos de la Villa José de Las Claras, en Puente Alto.
