    For people in South Florida, October is bringing the first signs of a cool and windy autumn. While this brings joy to many of us around here, it isn't exactly news. On the other hand, however, word around town is that this month also marks the birth of the first Anarchist commune in Broward County, Florida. While there are Marxist communes and collectives of activists and radicals in Broward county, never before has there been an activist centre for anti-authoritarians.

    The activists who maintain (and live together in) the commune refer to it as 'The Swamp'. Already in the midst of establishing a radical lending library, they hope to use the space as an outlet and a source of assistance for many local struggles and movements.
