About a year ago I came to the decision to find out if some of the bands I listened to were dodgy politically and/or racist. I had read things on the internet and decided to look further into it. I got rid of albums by CONDEMNED 84, COMBAT 84, 4 SKINS, THE EXPLOITED, and SCUM(An English skinhead band).
From what I have been able to gather these bands are racist/fascist. I am also a big fan of heavy metal and going through my pagan/black metal albums I pulled out(and got rid of) albums by Graveland and Temnozor. Two bands who are said to be supporters of Nazism. I think I am right in labelling all these bands racist/fascist.(correct me if I am wrong)
Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated in case I have missed certain bands.

Making white power music, no less. Pretty weird for an all-black band... I did read something about homophobia from the singer, which in itself isn't good either. But rascist? I think not.

Yeah, I just read about the homophobia incident with them and Big Boys but that happened a long time ago, when they were 20 or so. People can change. Hell, I used to be homophobic in my early teens but that's certainly not the case anymore. :)

Don't let it bother you too much, we all make mistakes. And this one was easily and quickly corrected.

Forgive my lack of technical skills with a computer, but I don't know how to post multiple quotes, and/or parse them on this particular forum.

I would like to briefly address the issue of The Bad Brains, and homophobia, or their reputation for being homophobes.....

This is all pretty much spelled out in Dave Dictor's book, "MDC, Memoirs of a Damaged Civilization".

Dave Dictor goes into great detail about how he met The Bad Brains in California, in the early 1980s, how he was able to secure a gig for The Bad Brains, in Austin, Texas, sharing the bill with The Big Boys, and The Dicks.

I am not going to go into details about who The Big Boys, and The Dicks were, except to say that the lead singers were openly gay, and the lead singer of The Dicks sometimes dressed up in drag.

When MDC got to the venue where the show was to take place, Dave personally witnessed H.R. from The Bad Brains have a meltdown over the fact that members of The Dicks and The Big Boys were gay, screaming that he would not share the same stage with "Blood Clot Faggots".

H.R. also used Rastafarianism as his excuse for his homophobia in a note that he wrote to "Biscuits" the lead singer of The Big Boys, quoting certain passages from The Old Testament and ending his screed by saying See You in Hell You Sick Pervert Faggot. (He also allegedly had the nerve to steal Biscuit's pot)

This also inspired MDC to write and record a song called "Pay To Cum Along" and why Bad Brains were kicked off the 1983 Rock Against Reagan tour.

HR has severe mental health problems. That doesn't excuse some of the things he's said and done, but he's spent many years with very serious mental issues and has said and done many things that are insane by any standard. Realistically, he should have been getting mental health treatment for many years. A mentally ill person can't be held to the same standards as someone who is mentally stable.

You might want to throw out your MOTORHEAD collection as well. At one time, I had a photo of Lemmy wearing a whole messload of swastika and iron eagle pins, but it got deleted. I tried doing an online search for the picture in question, but have not been able to track down said photo. HOWEVER..... if you look closely at the back of Iron Fist you WILL see a swastika carved into the middle horn of the metal statue of their boar's head mascot. You might also want to get rid of all your Iggy and The Stooges albums. Posted here is a picture from the 20th anniversary of the release of the Metallic K.O. album. This picture was featured in one of the inner sleeves. That's Ron Ashton dragging a very bloody Iggy off the stage. Nazi9.jpg

I think the most obvious example is of course Skrewdriver, but one that I still see people supporting sometimes is Admit You're Shit (or AYS as they are usually called). In all interivews, the band has all been very open and blunt as being nazis. They don't even hide it, they openly call themselves Nazis.

One i hesitated putting up here is Amebix. The singer is an admitted holocaust denier, but the reason i almost didn't include them is that the rest of the band clamed to have not known, and have very publicly distanced themselves from him, and I don't know whether or not to write off the whole band if just the frontman is a piece of shit.

He almost certainly wasn't into the whole Holocaust denial thing back in the day, and regardless, the Amebix reunion was short and has been over for awhile. Tau Cross all distanced themselves from his opinions.

I had heard about AYS but wasn't too sure if it was true. That's really sad to hear about the lead singer of Amebix, as I'm a fan of theirs. I got to see their reunion a while back and just lost it when they did Axe Man. And to think, Jello Biafra actually put out their first U.S. album back in the day. First I learn about The 4 Skins, and now THIS........

It really is a pity when people you once admired turn into fuckwits as they age. We had a band called Rose Tattoo who did stuff from a working class perspective. The vocalists has now turned into an anti-refugee Islamophobic arsehole. Cannot listen to those lp's anymore.

Rose Tattoo huh? I might have been wrong about you..........

I use to listen to them and Lime Spiders back in the day and holy shit people really do flip the switch on politics especially immigration policies.

For when people hear of Trump and his goons Palm Beach area I live 15 mins in a working class neighborhood.

To put some perspective on Palm beach area for those not in the know, There's 2 different places those with money want to live either by the coast A1A or Wellington, FL where SteveO from Jackass is from.

I happen to live in ghetto by the sea Sandcastle community

My neighborhood is shown throughout and yes I am loosely affiliated with some of those dudes.

    Not Rose Tattoo?
I just ordered tickets for their show this upcoming spring!
Actually, in the U.S. one must REALLY know their Aussie rock and roll to know who Rose Tattoo are. They only played here a handful of times, and, because practically nobody know them in the U.S. they basically played clubs, and small venues. They haven't been to the U.S. since the early 90s.

Well, the tickets, have been ordered, and it's a small club, so maybe I'll get to meet the lead singer and try to have a discussion with him on why he feels the way he does. If I can't change his mind, at least I will have personally confronted him on the issue. Maybe my attitude and outlook might come across as to permissive, but I believe in diplomacy, and open dialogue before making any final decisions most of the time. (Mind you, I said MOST of the time. No way in hell would I try the diplomatic approach on the Ian Stewart Donaldsons of the world. I'd just stay away from that crap)

I have the first Lime Spiders album. Haven't listened to it in almost 20 years. I liked them back in the day. What happened? Did they become a bunch of racist fuck wits as well? I hope not.

I never got the term "Reverse racism".

Racism is racism, no matter what color one's skin is or who the perpetrator is.
