I wont even discuss anymore. Crass' legacy was so ripped and torn apart for profit that nothing makes sense anymore.

Crass died inn 1984, I wouldn't attribute anything done now to their name. Nothing that the members do now should change how you feel about what they did 30 years ago. People change.

I am actually on this forum, and it's so full of shit. They have this weird hierarchy about the number of posts you make (I am a "Hot Topic Punk" because I do not post like 100 posts or whatever). Full of "Libertarians" and Ancaps who listen to Nirvana...

I seem to recall seeing this video not all that long ago, wherein the man responsible for the logo design, referred to it as a "brand", and although I think he meant it in a sort of ironic sense, this does kind of put that into a different sort of perspective.

It looks like it was signed, and i'm not sure, but it's possible it was used by Crass for performing. That being said, that's all completely ludicrous, and very much goes against the whole point. Has it been sold yet?

Crass *IS* a brand, their logo is copyrighted: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=16399&p=78539&hilit=crass+logo#p78539

A rich bourgeois, who else ? It is obvious that this drumhead won't end up in the hands of a punk or an anarchist. The target clientele is clearly rich fuck collectionners.

It's all a bit like that leather Jacket with "Crass", "the clash" and "the sex pistols" written on it, that sold for $375. It's all the transformation of punk into a meaningless fashion trend by corporate assholes. The anarchy "A" kind of loses something when it's being mass produced.

Yep, but that $20,000 drumhead is sold and authographied by Penny Rimbaud himself so the "corporate assholes" are ex-crass members...

Do you feel this detracts from the original intention of their music? Or do you find you can still listen to it, looking past some of their more recent transgressions?

i lost interest i must admit... but it's important to make the difference between what crass ex-members are today, and what they used to be. During its whole life Crass was a true anarchist band and there's nothing i can say against what it was. Also, some of the ex-members doesn't agree with what Steve and Penny are doing, so we can't blame the whole band for the actions of a few ex-members

Yeah, I can agree with that. The music still stands on it's own, and i'm perfectly capable of separating the artist from the art, if I need to.

But it's good to know that it'''s not all of them that are responsible.
