Hey punks and anarchists :p Just wanted to know what you think of religion. Not a specific religion, but religion as a whole, in all its stupidity. Let me know if you please ;)

Fuck institutions. Each individual fundamentally has their own connection to life, themselves and their environment.

Don't really care what people believe as long as they don't start giving other people shit over it.

In my eyes, I don't care if you want to believe in a pink unicorn named Edgar. As long as you keep it to yourself and don't try to use it against others in a harmful/violent way. I hate religion, but hey. You can't convert every single person to Atheism. I do have Christian friends. They drink, swear, hardly ever go to church, and are covered from head to toe in tattoos. Like I said though, as long at they keep it to themselves. Which they do.

I accept that in the eyes of many I am going to HELL. This is a good thing cause all of you will be there and we can have a great party. Except that many of you won`t believe that it is hell, or maybe the world we live in is hell which is why it sucks and when we die we`ll just carry on to another level of suffering; or maybe well all come back as a mosquito.

Seriously though, people have the right to believe/ live as they wish provided that it does not infringe on anothers right to do so. There are organized religious movements that I am vehemently opposed to but I am willing to participate in calm reasoned discussion with anyone provided that they are also capable of that kind of discourse. I am not athiest, nor am I Christian, Muslim, Hindu, etc; I have read the Christian Bible, the Jewish Bible, the Koran, the Vedas and others; I have attended prayers in churches of many faiths as well as Native American potlatches, sundances, pow wows and sweat lodges; I find the quest for spiritual understanding interesting and many ceremonies liberating; as liberating as a good slam in a mosh pit.

Limiting ones experiences and discourse due to preconceived notions is short sighted and leaves you open to misinterpret the actions of different cultures. I do not argue for any particular religion rather that people do not limit their personal experience in this world. I have met equally arrogant and narrow minded people in religious movements as I have at Anarchist gatherings; true believers are true believers whether they live under the cross, star, cresent or a black flag.

I believe every one is entitled to their opinions and belief, I personally hate it but, if there are punks out there that are religious I'm sure as shit not going to tell them what to believe.

Religion, at least nearly every form of it that I have seen, is a confining system of thought. Most religions bluntly fucking state that any deviation from their system of thought is a sin. Christianity openly condones being a sheep. Yeah, I think the world would be a helluva lot better off without religion. Now, as far as religious folks themselves, as long as they aren't getting their panties in a knot over how others live their lives, I don't mind. But my tolerance ends where someone else's intolerance begins. I have no interest in coddling the "religious sensibilities" of those who choose to attack innocent groups of people solely on the basis of something written in an ancient fucking story book. :ecouteurs:

i think its invidual beliefs.so i think we dont need to give a fuck with them as long its not judging someone.there is nothing to discriminate people just of their own belief.religious also teach u how to respect each other.but nowadays people use the religion to cover up their mistake, blaming others or take advantage.

Not really, given theirs no set religion in punk and we have a choice when it comes to religion i'd say it doesn't play an important role. I have my own beliefs, not gonna force them on anyone and in return I would expect no one forces there beliefs on me.

quote, Austin Lundr aka Panopticon, from the explanation of "On the Subject of Mortality"

"It is often difficult to reconcile spirituality with radical political thought in this particular social and political climate, as many people in radical communities look down upon spiritual traditions, and its counterpart is that many people who search for spirituality have no interest in and in fact are often appalled by political concerns"

There is a schism between life as it is lived now and spiritual life. Spirituality is seen as something abstract, separate, far away. Life is a continuum of lived spirituality, unmediated direct experience.

I never said I was for or against it. & in my opinion "Punk" is a movement with many little movements in it.
& I will not personally get into one of those "Punker then Thou" stances saying that they are not "Punk". Nor am I accusing you of such a view.
I see "Punk" as a multi-cultural movement & any cultures that want to throw their slant on it I say go for it.
    The more the merrier.
Besides I think alot of it is just criticisms of Islamic dogma anyways.

    And fuck ALL movements.

"Punk became a movement cause we all felt lost. Then the leaders sold out and we all paid the cost."
