Well I'm really confused about this, why do punks spit on bands even if they don't seem to like it? Is it kind of some "punk" attitude?

Because anarcho-punk means you have to stand up for what you pretend to be, and have some coherence between words and actions. And many bands are contradictory with the ideas they pretend to represent.

But I don't understand, why spend money that's hard to obtain in order to just go to a misfits gig or an Adicts gig an spit on the band? If I hated the Adicts I woudln't spend money just to spit on them I'd rather use it for something more productive, and I'm not sure if the people spitting on them were anarcho punks or not.

Some punks think spitting is a form of showing affection. I just think it's annoying and disgusting.

This. Its neither affection nor criticism, its just what some punks do in the pit. It probably stems from the hype surrounding the Sex Pistols and all the stuff that was rumoured to happen during their gigs. Through that misunderstanding, alot of punks thought that, to be true punks, they would have to spit and, eventually, it just became a part of the culture.

To assume that spitting is anything to do with the quality of the band is like taking it personally when people shove you in a moshpit, it just comes with the territory.

    Yeah right, whatever.

Well then I guess my original assumption was right and those media punks just spit on bands for thinking "it's what punks do". Quite pathetic and disgusting if you ask me, however if an anarcho punk sees Steve Ignorant walking down the street and spits on him I'll still find it disgusting (as you can see I'm not particularly fond of spitting on people) but it'd be probably justified.

Wait, what ? Again spitting =/= criticizing. We criticize. And that has to be done. If you criticize eachother, there's a hope we will become better. The more we're honest and open-minded it's better. Anarchism is not just about politics, it's about personality, person. You won't find what's wrong with you by yourself ( you will, but there are thing that are discovered by others, and shown to you as your mistakes. It's your choice if you want to accept that or not, but I recommand you do.). Steave is fine example i guess, but I think he knows why we don't support him anymore. He sold Crass. That's the fact, you can't kill a fact. Your opinion is, probablly, that he's still a very good person / band / etc. Ok, fine, but the fact is he's not anarcho anymore. I really don't give a damn what you think, but it's about fact, and accepting it as a way it is. Nothing is perfect, and we are not saying that. But we are trying to satisfy everyone. He's not doing that ( either by entering in capitalist music system or by selling tickets for 20+ dollars). I don't know what's so weird about that and why are you so stubborn and "disgusted" with everything. Try to think, and don't hide what doesn't have to be hidden.

Did any syllable of the word "probably" confuse you? I wasn't making any rigid statement, I don't have enough knowledge of the Crass situation to make any claims as if it were facts, I was just giving an example, don't take it at face value.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone spit at the bands at any gig I've been to. I've found that to be a sterotype of what people outside of punk assume...
Perhaps a few times, but no big deal...

...And then you deny you have something against me even if every time I fuck up you almost immediately post something to mock me.

Ok I'm sorry then, my bad.
