Same kinda tones as Crust or Black Metal would work, all ya gotta do is mix Black Metal and Crust riffs in a way that sounds natural...tunings would just be standard and drop D (and variations, like everything down a step or 2 or whatever). If you know how to play Crust and know how to play Black Metal you should be able to do it pretty well :)

Just do relatively simple, heavy Thrash-type riffs...use lots of open string & palm muted chugging, power chords (also plenty of palm muted power chord chugging), dissonant intervals, etc. Learn a bunch of Crust, D-Beat, and Thrash Metal riffs and you should be able to figure out some of your own. And yeah, for a lot of Crust you gotta play pretty fast, but not always....

Seriously, learn your diminished scales and some octave chords. Keep the highs high on the guitar with lots of distortion. Then it's just like playing punk. Learn some black metal songs and some stuff by Skitsystem or Wolfbrigade. That will give you an idea in which way to direct your guitar playing. The most important thing is that diminished scale, though.

You guys are forgetting tremolo picking and like Jay said those scales are very important.

Yeah. Alot of shit (especially doom and sludge) get labeled "blackened" just for having high pitched screaming. I do have to say though that the Iskra / Against Empire split is the only thing I might flirt with calling blackened crust. All of Iskra's other shit just sounds black metal to me. Not a bad thing. Just sayin.
