me and another person on this site were having a conversation about something like this so I'd though I might as well start a topic about it
anyway, as I wanted to say
I am tired of waiting for people to realize the harsh conditions we live in today in America. All our freedoms have gone our the door, and these sheep still line up to get slaughtered. The average person is to caught up with there personally lives to give a fuck about whats going on around them. These people are going down and taking us with them. The time to take a stand should have been taken long ago, but it has not. Now we are at a very critical point in our lives and people still don't care. You have no freedom of speech, you have no rights. The time to fight back is now or never.

I couldn't agree more. Our country is falling apart and our government runs around with their heads up their asses, all forms of authority around me are jokes. It's only a matter of time till even little backwater towns like mine fall into shambles as the government crumbles under the weight of it's own bullshit, and the police and military who are supposed to protect us? The military is out of sight out of mind and cops are a fucking joke.

Personally, I don't think there is much we can do about it. I mean what is the chance of all these people in American taking a stand for themselves at this point. we all know that its not going to happen until it is to late.it is a shame to see all of our hopes of a revolution go down the drain. There is no hope for the American people, and I'm starting to think that this little battle with our government is finished and over.

There ARE things that can be done about it, but it involves very very very carefully planned acts of terrorism. Few of us and in general have the capability to organize and execute radical protests. The stakes would be INCREDIBLY high, and you'd have more trouble finding people with the balls to do it than an effective plan. The internet is a new frontier and its leveling the playing field. I'm going to take up computer skills, among other things, and hopefully become an apt hacker. But like I said that is serious shit few people can commit to. The number #1 enemy is the population.

The best thing us regular folks can do is take up journalism. Get involved with your local government. The State might be corrupt beyond repair but on the local level change IS possible. If everyone can change their community, that would mean something would change everywhere. Baby steps. Most importantly have a skill that makes you able to express yourself. As long as you got your message out there it's helped. See if there is a copwatch where you live.

Everyday is a revolution, and you all are revolutionaries if you want to be, teenagers that care more about social change and feeding the homeless and poor than what they are going to wear or do this weekend are fucking revolutionary. It can be as small as wheat-pasting propaganda, as large as active sabotage, as small as deciding to stop eating flesh, as large as organizing a major protest, as small as being there for a fellow revolutionary, as large as creating a large international network of like-minded people, as small as reading Malatesta and Magon, as large as teaching others about Malatesta and Magon....every day is a revolution, a revolution forward in the classic sense of the word because even if a violent overthrow of capitalism and authoritarian communism and socialism doesn't happen in our lifetimes we are still in charge of today's and tomorrows revolution's.

nothing is going to change with pessimistic attitudes that i have read on here. If you don't believe you can make a change, then you are basically a complainer, if you don't fight back, you deserve to get hit. Obviously it is not going to be easy to get others involved or to get involved yourself, but the alternative is oppression, and watching things get worse. I kind of feel like if you aren't doing anything yourself, you have no right to complain.

I wouldn't say it's pessimism per se as it is being disillusioned with the real state of the situation. We all know things are bad, but none of us really know just how bad it is. Things really are almost hopeless. Time for just being able to change is running out, and small changes, while proactive, aren't going to get done what needs to be done.

Does anyone feel a lack of focus on the board? We all want change but some of us (myself) aren't sure how to go about it. Isolation is the problem. Maybe it's me personally, but I feel a lack of unity concerning political change. Like there should be more collaborations. I mean like we have plenty of discussion which is great, but what has the board actually produced?

I feel the same way sometimes. I am fucking disgusted by how pro-establishment so many people still are. And even people who recognize the flaws, see that all any election decides is whether it will be the lesser or worst of two evils will run the country, see that wealth distribution is in a horrific state, STILL believe somewhat in an authoritarian government (like my dad, who is really far left wing politically, but still says we just need to find the RIGHT person to give a position of power to...but then again he's also a hippy-Christian so he'll always have a "lord")...this shit just feels so hopeless sometimes.

I have an anarcho band and try to keep people informed of the issues we are facing today. But the majority of people just don't care. I just think that it will take Something really big to happen, and It needs to be done quick. These cops Roam the streets doing what ever the fuck they want, The government takes the control of the internet. There is no freedom for us on the streets and no freedom for us on the web.

Yeah I wanted to lean how to hack also but haven't looked anything up yet, I will get it done soon though with all the free I have now.

the real problem is not about that's impossible to (re)act, but that everyone (apparently even here a big amount of people) THINKS that's impossible. everyone keeps talking about why everything is fucked up, but no one DOES sth. about it!
i noticed this not only in this forum, but also in other ones and in my personal local scene, and i don't like this development.

what are you doing here if you don't BELIEVE that you can do something? if you are resignated, go buy at mcmurder or walmart or whereever...

just DO it! whatever, if it's planned...
political activism in every direction, journalism, ''keeping people informed'', creativity, even well planned (as mentioned) radical activism (sabotage, attacks, protests, etc.) can have their effect...

please don't see this message as a troll, just as CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. the more i read about doing nothing for ones dreams, the more i hate it writing this text over and over again, because it's (in my opinion) not the correct tendency in the (global) scene!

    reAct! generally...

As I stated clearly before.... We ARE doing something about it. but doing something small as journalism just wont cut it now. And yes I would love To attack this country but Its not like if I'm going to run out of my house, tell the hole city lets go bomb a police station, grab a bomb out of my ass and and blow the fucker up. Its just not that simple my friend.

I couldn't even finish reading all the replies without having to comment on this.
This is not only uplifting to those in in doubt, but exactly how one should feel.
If you give up, than you're no better than the assholes putting people, and animals in the circumstances they're under.
The one major thing that kills revolution, as I'm pretty sure those who are pessimistic have figured out, is apathy, why go to that?
Of course people will be apathetic, as small as reading Malatesta and Magon, as large as teaching others about Malatesta and Magon"
Teach people, teach. Not everyone's mind is made up, hence the reason they are apathetic. I feel that about close to 90% of people are some sort of anarchist deep down, they just don't realize it. Fuck the idea of "human nature." I feel human nature is caring about others and wanting the best for them as well as yourself, problem is, people don't quite know how to go about this. Educate! Anarchism has been getting a nice rise recently, with seemingly more support (in America) than ever before. People look at us more than just bored mindless teenagers, or "terrorists" nowadays, and are starting to realize what, and who we are fighting for. Propaganda, propaganda, propaganda! As long as our signs at mass/ or minor organizations say and show what we stand for, we shall gain public support. There is no quick fix to anything, but as long as people are oppressed or exploited, we shall gain support.

    Keep fighting.

Any action, no matter how small, is still action.

Practice what you preach. It's one thing to believe in anarchy, and another to BE an anarchist. Anarchy IS possible, but not without activism. Pessimism in the anarchist movement is deadly, and a bigger threat to change than Nazi's, the security state, counter-revolutionary capitalists/ stalinists, etc. put together.
