I am just curious is anyone planning to go see Steve Ignorant when he comes to the states in March?

No Crass died in 1984 the only band in my opinion that set out to do what they meant to do and did it

I heard somewhere on here he's going to be charging a shitload of money to see him. I can only name a handful of Crass songs I like and none of his solo shit so fuck him either way.

$23 Man that is cheap as shit. Shows here from international bands are NEVER less then $40. Even local bands charge $15.

Instead of spreading false rumours why not use your search engines to find Steves website and read the posts he has written in relation to the Last Supper tour and the US shows. He has clearly said all along that this is not Crass. He has told the US promoters not to advertise this as a Crass tour but they have done so anyway. He has never tried to fool anyone and has been totally honest about these shows from the start. The fact is this information is easily accessible online so why not read it before posting ill informed opinion as fact. If you read the facts and are still pissed of then fair enough.

It's funny how everyone's acting like Crass are some HUGE rockstars...for almost any non-punk show $23 (or $25) would be cheap as shit, plus the venue's gotta profit too.

People who went to munichs last supper came back frustrated about the "crass-cover show" without a single new song, at least a conflict- or whatever else cover version... Too bad that reading his statements in the web doesn't help it...

when i saw Stratford Mercenaries back in 97, the tickets and all the ads said CRASS for that show as well...

You obviously don't know how to read. I said for a NON-PUNK show $25 isn't that much for a show. Sure, for a punk band it IS expensive, but in the grand scheme of things, while it isn't necessarily on the low end, it isn't on the high end of concert prices by any means. As for Crass basically being rockstars, well you do have a good point there. Also, a smaller band is bound to put on a cheaper show anyways, so I don't see why you felt the need to point out that those bands with $5-$10 shows are smaller than Crass. And finally, I wasn't defending Crass, honestly beyond historical importance I don't care about Crass at all, and as I said before for a Punk band $23 is pretty expensive, I just found it funny how extreme some people's reaction is, even though said people are making a good point. That said, I imagine I'm probably able to acquire more money than a lot of posters on here, so with that in mind peoples reactions to this make more sense.

I actually agree with most of this, but that's just not the way shit is most of the time. The bigger a band gets the more likely they are to want more money, unfortunately, so while it is true that a bigger band could easily profit from putting on a $5 show, it's still very likely that they'll just want more...it's a similar kinda thing to corruption from power, really...personally when I have a band going I'd wanna just do shows for free, on a sidenote.

Ungovernable, grow up please ,this is not an AOL board and we are not children. The point i'm making is not about Ignorant or his tour it is about people giving their opinion without having bothered to find out the full story, the way the media does.
The fact is indeed that 'the venues is advertised as CRASS' but I do not see how someone who is on a different continent on the other side of the Atlantic can 'control his own promoter'. If I were promoting a Jello Biafra solo tour in the UK It would be easy for me to flypost with the name Dead Kennedys in huge fucking letters without him finding out until it is too late. If you want to moan about it being a nostalgia tour then thats up to you but stop spreading your opinion as fact, that is just lying.

I gotta say I think you have a good point but at the same time I think Steve has lost his way and doesn't really mind the confusion so much when it brings him extra money. So he probably isn't aggressively looking to dispel the 'Crass' promotions. Also I don't see how they can be considered covers if he helped write them and sang them originally, that's not a cover.
