That's a tough one. Both are neck and neck in my book. They are both played sloppy by some bands, both still aggressive, and yes, most of Grind/ all Crust Punk bands are about Anarchy in some way. So it is related Punkmar....

I'm just really tired of the pissfighting on here and this seems like another perfect opportunity for comparing genitalia....so to speak. Why divide with a question like that?

I'm not trying to divide at all, man! I just wanna know who likes what! If I was trying to divide I would have given an opinion and said if you don't agree then you're wrong.

Well I don't look at it as dividing, since they already are two different types of music. Grind is just play as fast as you can and/or as short of songs as you can.

Crust is all about the message with a more aggro sound than just general punk. I would think that Crust Punk has more of a fan base than Grind, since Grind is more of a Death Metal influence.

But I do like to hear people's opinions aswell. And you can't say it's a pissing contest, nor call bullshit on someone's opinion. Unless you feel no one has the right to an opinion. Then we are at a stalemate lol. Or as a brilliant man once said Shoot the fuck and walk away :lmao:

My opinion is that your opinion is bullshit! Of course I can say your opinion is bullshit or whatever, it isn't saying you can't have your opinion I am just expressing my opinion on your opinion =D

You can't call bullshit on an opinion, since an opinion isn't fact. :ecouteurs:

I do call bullshit because you ask which is better, that is clearly divisive, why does one have to be better than the other, why is it a fucking competition, why are their so many dividing clicks among people....why? Because everybody likes neat little labels that compartmentalize everything. There are so many, much more important, things to talk and debate about on this forum that get completely ignored by most of you, but when vapid questions like this get posted it gets pages of pissfighting and whose more punk than who, and people calling each other morons, idiots, etc. Trevor has posted endless times on topics that were already covered, I have to keep coming behind him and merging his topics with pre-existing topics because he's too lazy to check first. There is a topic called Death/Grind/Black Metal that was just posted where all of this could have been discussed just as easily instead of starting a whole new thread that covers Grind. All that being said, to all the bandwagon jumpers get a fuckin' life.

'Opinion isn't fact'? Well, then it would be perfectly valid to call an opinion bullshit! =P

Opinions can be based off false information in which you could call bullshit on it. You could see through their opinion when it is deliberately flase with a hidden agenda in which you could all bullshit on it.

Just a couple of examples of where you could.

Yea, i said something about this in the black metal/grind thread about the thread being people competing in a "pissing contest" to see who can name more bands than others, or look through what people listed, think of a band thats not mention and then stating it like they know more music. But at least that thread didnt say which is better (though people stated what they liked more).

And then there is the thread about anarcho-punk (the music i guess?) being dead with some really stupid remarks made by other members about it.

I just think most people here are more for the music than politics, which, personally, is fine by me.. BUT, fuck these topics on which genre is better. They're all great genres. Fuck, you can listen to Disturbed and Simple Plan, if your a nice guy, and you dont treat people like shit and have respect, then your ok.

Other way around on the grindcore/ death metal deal. Early grindcore influenced death metal.

I'm gonna go with neither. I like some early grindcore like Carcass, but as a genre its way too limiting stylistically. All the good grind bands eventually went death metal (Carcass, Napalm Death).

Crust is too obsessed with politics and musically derivative for my taste. For every good, innovative band like Wolfbrigade or Skitsystem there are a hundred imitators. Besides, crusty album covers are more repetitive than any other genre I've seen. Skull? Check. Wasteland? Check. Crusty guy? Check. Chaos star? Check.

If you want punk/metal, listen to early Swedish death metal like Dismember and Entombed. Sounds like fucking death metal Discharge.

Also, punkmar is just insecure because he knows that I have the golden genitals of the gods.

*BZZZZ* WRONG! as the resident death metaller here you are mistaken sir. Depending on who you ask Napalm Death is considered the first grindcore band, having coined the term and playing the actual style. Napalm Death released their grindcore debut SCUM in 1987. By then were already a bunch of death metal bands notably Death, Possessed, Morbid Angel, Master, and a couple of other lesser names. Also napalm death has claimed in interviews to have been heavily influenced by death metal and it's actually where they got the idea for grindcore. Yeah I'm a nerd what of it? :ecouteurs:
