Wow so you believe anything you read or anything they teach you at school and you claim yourself to be an anarchist ? Thanks for the shitty links but keep this religious propaganda bullshit for yourself, existence-of-god.com wow what a reliable source... you should read more anarchist texts instead of believing this bullshit

And keep your lessons about the points of unity for yourself. You probably didn't even read the fucking text, or else you would have understood that the text clearly state:
Please also understand that ANY kind of religion is NOT part of our points of unity.

So YOU are the one who should apply the points of unity text, smartass.

Yeah right, i should go to church and confess my sins since this is the only way we can help other peoples. Maybe god or jesus can do something for me.

Seriously what the hell do you expect me to say when someone post links to religious propaganda supposed to prove that god exist on an ANARCHIST forum that is explicitly ANTI-GOD and ANTI-RELIGIOUS ?

Ungov, those texts don't support or deny the existence of God, they DEBATE it...It's different.

I, for one, am an atheist/naturalist, so no I don't believe in God but I agree with Ghoul in some points and all books can be interepreted the way people want to, you're no better than the church if you're imposing your way of seeing what's in the Bible to other people and claiming they're wrong if they disagree.

Yes, I read the points of union and I can recall reading there that we should focus on what keeps us together, not what divides us. If Ghoul was trying to explain to you that he didn't believe in all the exagerations and storys present in the Bible in a literal way, why were you narrowing it down, saying he DID believe in all that bullshit?
And we may have the points of union, but those aren't "laws", it'd be pretty contradictory if there were to be "laws" on an anarchist forum.

I did read and still read anarchist texts, essays and books. Just because I have different views than those you have it means I'm wrong? Why the fuck? Are you hierarchly superior because you're a mod and that enables you to talk shit to everyone?

Calm down and instead of saying some arguments aren't worthy of your time (and a statement like that denotes a certain tone of cockyness), please counter-argument and stop insulting everyone who disagrees with you.

People seem to forget that faith and radicalism are not mutually exclusive things. The majority of people that I've met in real life who are sympathetic to radical politics where also religious - usually Roman Catholic or Lutheran. It was because they believed in the teachings of Christ that they were left-leaning in their politics. On the other hand, outside of counter-culture scenes, most atheists I've met were highly pro-State and pro-Capitalist.

Personally, I'd rather have a Christian sympathetic to Anarchism and/or Socialism (if they aren't outright embracing it) than an Atheist that doesn't come close to sharing my core beliefs by my side. The former actually shares my moral code. Do I believe in their Bible? No, but if they don't force their beliefs on me I don't care what they believe.

Not that I think religion is a good thing, mind you. Its just something else that Mankind uses as an excuse to kill each other. However, if a Christian is also a radical, they shouldn't be spat upon or have their faith insulted when they're an ally.

...Also, just because you read anarchists texts doesn't mean you can't read religious ones as well. You work better with people if you understand them.

God, another religion thread that boils down to religion vs. faith... God forbid we should actually talk like adults about these sorts of things (yes all puns intended).
Seriously, as Antitude said the Bible can be interpreted in X ways, where X is the number of people actually reading the text. Hell, I've been toying with the idea of making an anarchist 'translation' of the Bible... lol

whats wrong with the flying spaghetti monster - may his noodly appendages touch us all... I for one am a devout supporter of anyone willing to call pirates their chosen people and laugh at organized religion and all its hypocritical bullshit... there is nothing wrong with faith, for if you believe in nothing you have nothing to fight for and nothing to offer others. But blind faith in something that is nothing more than nursery rhymes intended to teach a child percieved right from wrong seems a bit obscene to me... but what do I know...

religion was invented for those who are both confused and in misery, an essential hypnotic tool applied to the masses required by the governing body in order to keep everyone in sway
this is my overall thought right now in any and all religious *belief systems*
freud was right in some ways
fuck the bileball, not only is the entire concept of what is eternal by the definition of popular theism and popular theistic religions fucking ridiculous and illogical, but it is very childish and mean. all the while, not having anything to do with rationality or the basic understanding of human nature.

ok then someone explain why ancient civilizations, all spread out across the globes all believed in gods and or deittes, yet they had no contact with other civilizations that believed the same things?

(not trying to spew any pro religion propaganda but still don't get how easily dismisible it is to so many in spite of things like what i mentioned.)

Just don;t like people who seem to think they know it all when NO ONE does. thats all im saying.

perhaps i shouldn't have included my personal thoughts that encompass all religion.
what i meant is, and after i edited my post again after you just posted now, is that heaven and hell (theism, ie xianity, islam, ect.) is the bigggest crock of shit i have ever heard. now, i am not saying this because of material evidence or even our most basic logic. i say this because it seems incredibly unfair and asinine.
some will claim that heaven and hell are actually meant to be taken as a metaphor, however even so there is so much more horse shit that can be found in the bileball and qur'an.
