Staying in shape and being active doesnt mean you have to play a sport, you can go for walks and runs, thats not the topic, the topic is of sports and all that implys, being healthy is a different subject. But hey, if you like it, great, WHO THE FUCK CARES IF THESE OTHER PEOPLE DON'T, your certainly not going to change their minds either. ;)

i love hockey, and i have to disagree about hockey players being over paid idiots most make very little compared to that of a basketball or football player, plus there very nice people.

How is it it's different how a hockeyplayer is practicing every day and having to stay in shape, to how a singer has to do so? Look at the mainstream singers, don't you think they have to work pretty hard on staying in shape..? Every time any of them gain a pound it's all over the headlines, same if they go out in "wrong" clothes or without makeup. If it's about having to practice hard for this job ever since they are kids, don't you think for example Britney had to do the same for her job..? The singers just sing, they don't write their songs you say, but did the hockeyplayers make the puck..?
Despite from all of this, i see hockeyfans hating eachother for liking different teams. If they can't get along with someone because he or she likes "the wrong" team, it's not so strange there's so much racism in the world.

yeah you are right, sorry lol....

its not like running a hockey team is very expensive.... you only need a coach for the team ...

because football players make more millions doesn't mean they are not being over paid..... they are still millionnaires. And who cares if they are nice people or not ? Do you care if bill gates is a nice guy or not?

Yes, exactly... totally agree with you

i was thinking about this before. just to clear up the milions they agree to on their contracts are spread out along a few years most of the time. liek a player with sign a 6 year contract for 5 million or what ever. and that 5 million is spread out in payments by every few weeks or so. so at least they arent swimming in cash/ but they deffinitly are not in a cash drought.

i think you guys are dragging the whole sports comunity into a pile of mud that is a few bad fans. ther are sooo many people who watc play and love hockey and would never go and start fighting people over what team they like. but there are a few peopel that are dumb drunk dumbasses. and you say all hpockey fans are out for the blood of other teams fans.

maybe your egtting mixed up with rivelry. sure you see a toronto fan your like boooooo fuck the leafs but your not going after him. tryign to beat him. i have never in my life of goign to hockey games. and going downtown to watch hockey games ahve ever seen any one beaten because they have a leafs jersy on. but hey people have kille dover pokemon cards so prwetty much everything in the world sparks violance and anger.

it takes alot more to run a team then a coach and players. alot more. there are general manegers. team woners. team helpers liek medical personal and trainers. assistent coaches. the list goes on i just dont know the official names. but look behind the bench at a hockey game. and wait for the camera to show the gm's box they are both filled wit people. all working.

and hockey is not liek that oh he is wearing these clothes its headline news. the only news hockey players make is in the sports section talkign about hockey. and its not about oh u gained a pound your egtting players mixed up with britny as u were talking before. i dont even understand how u could say beign a hockey layer is just as hard as a pop singer. they just sing some songs here are some examples of hockey player training watch that and say they are liek pop singers lets see justin timberlake or anyone do half this shit.

    http://canucks.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=479782

    http://www.ehow.com/how-does_4779633_nh ... rkday.html

those are just a few. what a singer wakes up at when every they want... they train how? when a player is working out lindsy lohan chick is doing what/ ohh a bunch of blow of her table? getting drunk? the player ,may not make the puck but they make them selfs...this is the dumbest comapisin ever. pop singer and nhl hockey player. for real..?

I'm don't just hate hockey, I hate the rest too I gave hockey as an example because you said they love each other and whatnot. I did not say "all it does is start fights" I said it often leads to fights, which is not always and it does not have to be about hockey only, but any other game.

Again, I gave hockey as an example. Still I do not care how much money a person brings, it is how much work he does and how hard it is that matters. I could get paid for watching TV, but that would not be even half of the work a miner does.

If they are not in it for the money, then why the hell will they not give their money away? If they are not in it for the money, why do they sign contracts, change teams, star on adverts, and try to be famous such as Soccer players? Homelessness does have nothing to do with laziness, for all you know the guy could have an independent restaurant before Burger King opened nearby. I don't know how they get their money, but they get it from sponsors such as Pepsi, Coca Cola, etc...

It isn't logical for players to get loads of money for a game, yet they do. Teams shouldn't pay that much for players, but if they didn't then said players will not join the team and would prefer joining a team that pays more.

A comedian/clown/musician works hard, yet only a handful get famous and gain a lot of money.

What I hate about sports is that people never stop talking about them, how cool player X is and how he can rape player Y any day, how they get millions of dollars while we work our asses off for a petty sum of money, how their faces pop up on every Pepsi can, how they often lead to endless arguments between fans, and the fact that they turn a damn GAME into a business.

But meh, it's all about opinions.

they sign contracts to make it in legal documents what servises they will provide and what compinsation the team will provide its standard for most jobs. its so no one fucks people over...alot of players change teams for many resons. eather things are not working. sometimes the drama and stress of the city messes witht heir game and they have to leave. its very common in sports. adverts are just a way to make money yes. but you only really see the huge players liek crosby and lindros in them...i dont knwo how they are trying to be like soccor players seeing as they are less popular here then hockey players really...

they work hard getting gigs and writing meterial yup. but what they chill on their couch tryign to think of funny things. i dont understand how you guys keep compairng athletes to pop singers and comedians. they are tottaly differnt worlds. you would think profesional athletes would be comapred to other people whos lives revolve around physicle traingin and other things liek that. because compairing them to others is pointless its liek sayign whos job is ahrder. a truck driver and an space man..ther is just no simularitys...

yes some times i get sick of hockey hockey hockey every converstation at all times. that is true. there are other things to talk about then how good this player is and this and that.

most people who play just for the love of the game itself play in beer leagues, or community leagues, they make nothing, few people show up to watch, yet they play just for fun. Your arguement that professionals play for love of the game is a bit jaded, i'm sure the millions they make are helping them love the game too. (and just so u don't get the wrong idea about me, i am a big baseball and football (americano) fan. I enjoy watching the games, but hate the greed involved, so i don't buy memorabillia (unless it;s second hand and cheap) or buy tickets to games, because i can't justify monetarily supporting the industry.)

Same number of employees of a small company who makes very little profit.

you think all the profits of hockey goes into paying like 10 employees ?

it's still a SPORT, a damn GAME.... everyone who do sports need a training.

soldiers do worse training and are paid less

Soccer riots are due only to fans, it's not a sport that promote violence. In hockey games some fights are arranger just for the show, and sometimes everyone let the fight goes on just for the show because the spectator likes that. that's stupid.

dude you really sound like a fan who try to find any reasons to defend his sport. just admit that you love hockey (you have the right to) but that it's definatly a capitalist sport. just look at the stadiums filled with ads, the price of the tickets to assist the match, the millions they make, the sponsors who are the worst capitalist companies, etc... EVERYTHING turns around money, capitalism, privileges and high society. And yes it's the same with all sports we're not trying to put all the blame on hockey, football is almost worst with the superbowl and shit like that

Good point Ungov, the reason they get paid so much money is because 1. they are good athletes and demand the publics attention, but 2. more importantly they demand advertising attention which spends BILLIONS of Dollars on all the major organized sports. Rude-boy no one is attacking you for being a fan or the sport itself, but the NHL, MLB, NFL, MLS, FIFA, NBA, are all equal cogs in the capitalist machine, you do understand that much don't you?

ya of course i do. just dont want the players getting thrown into the same bag as crazy greedy people.

and ya fuck buying anything ay a game! never!! 10$ beers! 5$ hotdogs! its madness.

but ungov. i was just talking bout the teams. but in the whole stadium there are close to a hundred people working doing differnt things. not just 10. its a biiig place with lots of things. venders. merch people, security, hostess chicks, tech people, zamboni guys, the coaching staffs of both teams...bla the list goes on...

and who ever was tal;king about the beer games. yes! those are the best. thats when hockey is at its best. wednesday night. every one pays like 15$ for the arenas fees and you just play. during the game your at their throats. after the game your passin him a beer. its great.

gosh darn i love hockey haha.

but they are greedy peoples.... it's a fact....

being paid millions of dollars to buy a 9th car and a 4th house and not sharing is greedy...

commercialised hockey is capitalism, theres not really anything to debate

The hockey team is one thing, and the stadium management team is another thing. The hockey team LOCATE a stadium for a match, then it's the role of the stadium to hire a management team. it's two very different things...

meh i wasent posting on here even when they were winning. just when they went to the next round. yup big game is tonight its do or die. but im still proud of them its the best they have done in 17 years i think. so im still gunna support and not gunna say im disapointed. they had a good run. and who knows maybe they might pull some wins out of their ass.

but if they lose i think im going for the blackhawks for the cup.
