Under its designer clothes and glossy make-up, Italy is festering with infection. Fascism, nationalism, the rotten stench of xenophobia emanates from the open wounds left by a spiralling economic crisis holding grip of the country for over a decade. A new generation of Italian punx, torn between politics and escapism, felt the need to confront the raw, experimental and utopian legacy of 80s Italian punk. Infused with a sense of disenchantment and withdrawal – but also with strikes of utopia, rebellion and hope – 20 tracks of unruly punk from the filthiest basements of EUs arse.
