As far as the stenchcore of old is concerned, I guess one has to point out to the mid/late 80's British bands such as Deviated Instinct, Axegrinder, Hellbastard, Concrete Sox (third Lp) or Sacrilege (these are the usual suspects really). Other, probably lesser known bands from the same place and era, are also highly recommendable, such as Prophecy of Doom, Debauchery, Mortal Terror, Genital Deformities, some Sore Throat recordings (the Saw Throat Lp or the 90's recordings for instance), Senile Decay, Acrasy or Electro Hippies (the Lp only).
For old US bands I would suggest Misery, Nausea (Extinction Lp + Cybergod Ep) and Skaven (terrific band). Jesusexercise from Sweden and Painajainen from Finland could also be seen as stenchcore bands (meaning dirty and metallic punk bands who can't really play that well). The Japanese scene has also produced some good bands in the genre (SDS, Effigy, Zoe, early Age, early Acrostix, Axewield) and the Greeks have pretty much invented their own brand of metal-crust as well throughout the years (Chaotic End, Panikos, Naftia, Hibernation, Forgotten Prophecy, Rigma...). The second Hiatus demo and Warcollapse's "Crust as fuck existence" really stand out too, though both bands cannot be described as stenchcore bands per say.
Nowadays I would strongly suggest Instinct of Survival, Cancer Spreading, Filth of Mankind or Contagium. Hellisheaven (from Poland) or Fatum (from Russia) have great potentials but I guess one will have to wait until their next releases to see if they really cut it in the long term.
There are many others that have already been mentioned so I am not going to linger too much.
