Cuando pensamos que el fascismo era un problema menor y que el problema real es el capitalismo, hemos caído en error. Ahora que ya ha pasado 4 años después de que la economía comenzara a contraerse, los resultados electorales de Grecia y Francia demuestran que los partidos fascistas han conseguido escaños en el parlamento, así como en los países del este como Ucrania, Polonia y otros, los grupos fascistas incluso llegaron a formar cuerpos paramilitares. En Italia, el fascismo adquiere una faceta social y caritativa, inspirándose en el modelo de las okupas para crear centros sociales que acojan a desahuciados, pero solo a los ‘italianos de pura cepa’. La organización que lleva a cabo esas acciones es la Casa Pound.
No hace falta ir muy lejos. Durante el período de entreguerras y en plena crisis económica causada por el crack del ’29, los partidos totalitarios comenzaron a tener cada vez mayor simpatía entre la población, sobre todo en Alemania e Italia. Sin embargo, en aquellos tiempos existía también un movimiento obrero con considerable repercusión, algo que hoy en día no se ve. A lo mismo, la exaltación del odio y de la disciplina militar que caracterizan los fascismos ha quedado en segundo plano y lo han camuflado sutilmente poniéndose una máscara populista y paternalista bonachón.
Aquí en España, como en el resto de Europa, los nazis y fascistas están tratando de seguir este modelo populista, ya que, aprovechando el miedo a las incertidumbres, el empobrecimiento y la ineptitud de los políticos, tratan de erigirse como unos salvadores que no dudan en solucionar sus problemas. Puede que abrir centros sociales para acoger a españoles desahuciados suene a Cáritas y labores de ONG, pero en realidad es un sutil engaño para lavarles el cerebro y echar las culpas a los inmigrantes y a los movimientos sociales de base, mientras exaltan el orgullo de ser españoles y que quieren lo mejor para éstos: trabajo, vivienda, pan y patria.
Pese a su carácter aparentemente obrerista, en realidad todos los fascismos son profundamente antiobreros y es la burguesía conservadora formada por los grandes propietarios quienes encuentran en el fascismo su arma para mantener sus privilegios en tiempos de crisis, cuando la crispación social aumenta. Y para acabar con la disidencia, nada mejor que dividir a la clase obrera engañando a una parte de ella –la población autóctona– para que expulse a la extranjera, así como recurriendo a la violencia gratuita por parte de grupos paramilitares contra comunistas, anarquistas y socialdemócratas.
Urge pues que desde los movimientos sociales de base estemos alerta de las acciones que se están llevando a cabo desde las organizaciones y partidos fascistas, y por supuesto, tengamos que generar una respuesta hacia esas ideas basadas en el odio. Entonces nos preguntamos, ¿deberíamos usar una estrategia similar que ellos? Siendo primeramente que esa estrategia fascista de carácter populista está inspirada en la izquierda, deberíamos ser nosotros quienes sigamos esos métodos. No obstante, los anarquistas no somos hermanitas de la caridad y no debemos actuar de manera paternalista, aunque es necesario que estemos presentes en la sociedad. Recordemos que el año pasado, el 15M también ha okupado inmuebles abandonados y ha dado cobijo a los desahuciados, pero a diferencia de la Casa Pound (por poner un ejemplo), los del 15M hicieron talleres, charlas, debates y asambleas en dichos centros sociales con el fin de movilizar a la gente.
En estos tiempos el fascismo encuentra un terreno fértil para extender sus ideas de odio, entre la población adormecida y sumida en el miedo, teniendo las esperanzas de que algún día puedan dormir tranquilos. El fascismo consigue avanzar porque la gran mayoría de la gente son sujetos pasivos acostumbrados a obedecer y delegar responsabilidades e incapaces de organizarse entre ellos por el aislamiento y las relaciones hostiles entre vecinos. Por ello, solo hace falta que la figura de un gran padre salga al escenario para ofrecer su protección a los desfavorecidos mientras que se echan las culpas a quienes vienen de fuera y quienes posean otras ideas. La actual clase trabajadora ha perdido la conciencia de clase, destruida por el engaño de las clases medias y borrado por el ciudadanismo.
Nos queda pues la tarea de autoorganizarnos, trabajar para conseguir frenar el fascismo, –junto con el neoliberalismo y el Estado– y extender la conciencia de clase, recordando además que no recurriremos a la caridad sino a la solidaridad, nuestra verdadera arma que nos permite avanzar.

When we think that fascism is a minor problem and that the real problem is capitalism, we have fallen into error. Now after over 4 years that the economy began to fail, the election results in Greece and France show that fascist parties have won seats in parliament and also in the eastern countries like Ukraine, Poland and others, fascist groups have even come to form paramilitary groups. In Italy, fascism becomes a social and charitable side, inspired by the model of the anarchist squatters to create social centers which accommodate the homeless, but only the 'full-blooded' Italians are welcome. The organization carrying out these actions is Casa Pound.
No need to go far. During the interwar period and during the economic crisis caused by the crash of '29, totalitarian parties began to have increasing sympathy among the population, especially in Germany and Italy. However, in those days there was also a labor movement with considerable impact, something that today is not seen. At the same time, the exaltation of hatred and military discipline that characterized fascism has been sidelined and have subtly disguised by wearing a mask of easygoing populism and a paternalistic facade.
Here in Spain, as in the rest of Europe, the Nazis and fascists are trying to follow this populist model because taking advantage of the fear of uncertainty, impoverishment and the inefficiency of politicians, fascism try's to establish itself as a savior that won't hesitate to solve their problems. To open community centers to house evicted Spanish citizens sounds like Caritas and NGO work, but it is actually a subtle deception to brainwash them and lay the blame on immigrants and grassroots social movements, while heralding the pride of Spain and those who only want the best for them: work, housing, bread and homeland.
Despite its seemingly pro-labor character, fascists are all in fact deeply anti-worker and are formed by the conservative bourgeoisie and large landowners who find in fascism the gun to keep their privileges in times of crisis when social tension increases. And to end the dissent, nothing better to divide the working class than by cheating part of it - the native population, into expelling the foreign workers as well as resorting to gratuitous violence by paramilitary groups against Anarchists, Communists, and Social Democrats.
Therefore it is urgent that from the grassroots social movements we are aware of the actions being carried out from the fascist organizations and parties, and of course, we have to generate a response to these hate-based ideas. Then we wonder, should we use a similar strategy as they do? Since that first fascist populist strategy is inspired by the left should we be the ones who follow these methods? However, as Anarchists we are not ministers of charity and we must not act in a paternalistic way, but we need to be present in society. Recall that last year, the 15M has also squatted abandoned buildings and had given shelter to the homeless, but unlike Casa Pound (for instance), the 15M did workshops, lectures, debates and meetings on these social centers to mobilize people.
In these times fascism finds fertile ground to spread their ideas of hatred among the people that are numb and steeped in fear, with hopes that someday they can sleep peacefully. Fascism is able to advance because most people are accustomed to being obedient taxpayers and delegating responsibilities and are unable to organize themselves and this forms the isolation and hostile relations between neighbors. Because of this, you only need the figure of a 'great father' to step onto the stage to offer protection to the poor while they place the blame on those who come from the outside and those people with other ideas. The current working class has lost consciousness of class, destroyed by the deception of the middle classes and deleted by the idea 'civil duty'.
It is therefore a task of self-organizing to work towards putting the breaks on fascism together with neo-liberalism and the State, and to advance class consciousness, remembering also that we do not recur to charity but to solidarity, our real weapon that allows us all to advance.
