Resurrection of APN compilation project ?

Yeah i know, you probably all think it's dead but no, it just took way longer than expected. We were busy focusing on Pirate-Punk.net compilation, we had a lot of trouble to get the compilation authorized by the french government's SACEM. But not it's finished and it will be released in a couple of days.

So now, let's focus on Anarcho-Punk.net compilation !!!

Obviously, if we continue to manage this project this way it will take forever. So now i want to know : who is willing to invest their time and get involved in APN project compilation ?

I need members with good contacts in notorious bands OR members who are willing to contact bands and ask them if they want to participate to our project. So, if enough persons are interessed, let's form a group and manage this project together, it will be easier and faster than asking the whole community each time we take a decision. But of course, everyone will be allowed to participate and give their opinions !!


The compilation will work the same way as planned before :

- Will be released at 1000 exemplaries minimum, probably more depending on how much money we have.

- Compilation will be sold both in europe and america, for low price and 100% of the profit will be used to release future compilations and help APN.

- For the fist volume, our strategy is to focus on WELL KNOWN bands who are notorious in the Anarcho-Punk scene. This will ensure a strong reputation for the first volume and it will be easier to sell it. Then, for the next volumes, we will use the reputation of the compilation to introduce smaller bands together with well-known anarcho-punk bands. Sorry but no unknown bands or shitty audio will be accepted for the first volume, so don't submit us your unknown band yet

- All bands must be aware that participating to this project is a declaration that you support free file sharing and non-profit music making. We should write a text to introduce the project and copy it to each bands we contact.

- This is a REAL disc, not a shitty MP3 compilation. We absolutly need high-quality WAV audio comming from an ORIGINAL ALBUM. No mp3. No wma. No ogg. No compressed audio. No mp3 converted to wav. The bands needs to send us an original album OR get a non-compressed WAV file coming directly from an original master.

We need people who have a lot of free time for this project, who are serious and active on the forum. We need to get this compilation done !!! Get involved only if you are serious and can help us in a way or another !


What we will need later:

- We will need funding for the compilation, but don't worry about it. Once it is ready to get released, if we have great bands and nice arts it will be very easy to find people who will lend us money. We can borrow money, pre-sale compilations and of course accept donations. If someone knows a label that would sponsor our compilation by funding a part of it, it would be even better !!!!

- I already have contacts who can produce the master of the compilation and a few other contacts for graphic duties, but members with audio-mastering skills or graphic skills could be helpful.

- We will need people who have contacts from labels and distros in Europe and America, and who would buy compilations from us to distribute them.

No problem, we can arrange something by check or postal mandate.... But i would prefer to wait after the compilation is 100% ready before taking money (except if it is a donation) because we can't tell how long it will take until the compilation is released !!
Last time we borrowed money from an APN member and it took waaaayyy longer than expected so i had to give back the money because our project was too slow and the person needed it (which is totally understandable).... I felt really bad about borrowing money for nothing so i'll make sure we take it only when the project is finished

Define 'unknown band'. I could ask maybe a few well-known anarcho / crust bands here on Balkan, though I'm not sure you ever heard of them.
