Always curious about that picture, I knew they weren't racist...but thanks for the link, it's very interesting to read.

Old school punks like Sid just used Nazi imagery to piss people off. It kinda backfired when REAL Nazi punks started coming into the scene.
I don't know why anyone would bother to slam music that's over thirty years old. For its time, the Sex Pistols stirred things up. They seemed more intense then than they really were...a warmed-over rehash of The Who in window dressing by Malcolm McClaren. In hindsight, yeah, they were kinda prefabricated like the Monkees. But, they were still pretty good and the lyrics have aged better.

good and very fitting comparison, keith moon, the who's drummer, enjoyed walking around in german uniforms and doing the german salute in front of the audience. i think he and sid had serious issues and that very special british background just asking for a cheap thrill.

He was about as shocking as Shirley Temple....who gives a fuck? What would shock me would be some punks blowing up the fucking cross in the Valley Of The Fallen, instead of shooting heroin and being a media seeking primma donna waste of human space wearing a swastika.....oooooh so shocking

Why would people worship so much someone who was just a kid? Why do they try so hard to justify him? Would any of the people defending him so much also defend a regular 21 year old junkie? If not, why discriminate like that?.

Stupid boneheads and a few others are. Alot of people like Sid did it for shock purpose, and there is even a couple old photos of the Misfits drummer with a Swastika shirt, but It says "Fuck Nazis" on the bottom

He and his girlfriend were dumb. They did not do anything important, but inject themselves with heroin all day, and die.
If it had not been for these things, I might have lived out my life talking at street corners to scorning men. I might have died, unmarked, unknown, a failure. Now we are not a failure. This is our career and our triumph. Never in our full life could we hope to do such work for tolerance, for justice, for man's understanding of man as now we do by accident. Our words — our lives — our pains — nothing! The taking of our lives — lives of a good shoemaker and a poor fish-peddler — all! That last moment belongs to us — that agony is our triumph - Bartolomeo Vanzetti
