Absolutely, GG is God. punkerfucker wrote:no one can stop him!
Well, he is dead. So i guess something did stop him (a combination of coke and heroin, if my memory serves me right) punkerfucker wrote:he is pure animal!!any of u guys hv been to his show?
Sadly not, but I do happen to know that he holds the record for "Shortest US Tour", and a record not likely to be broken EVER. First gig, he comes on stage naked. At the end of the first number he turns around on stage and drops a MAJOR brownie on stage. Start of second number he starts smearing himself with it and throws it at the audience. About halfway into the second number, the lights come on and the power to the stage is cut. When that story hit the news, the rest of the gigs cancelled. So he got to play 1(one) and a half track in the tour. Thats Punk-Rock right there. What to think about GG. Well there is not much to "think" is there, you kind of just have to accept that he is/was just like that. I like the "Carnival Of Excess" album from 1996, the rest is bit too much for me. Bobby Ebbs from the almighty Genocide was way more badass than GG Allin, just less known. GG Allin blew him too.
Genocide>GG Allin
Granted, I still love GG, Ive been told that when I shave a certain way, and shave my head I look exactly like him.

I have to call bullshit on that one. His lyrics was extremely politically incorrect (with subjects such as misogyny, paedophilia and racism) and that created varied opinions of him with the highly politicized punks. Look up the term "Oversocialization", best explained by Theodore Kaczynski in his Industrial Society and Its Future I think you will find a good description of yourself in that one.

Interesting thing to talk about on an arnarcho-punk site... Don't get me wrong I like GG's music as being funny and over the top offensive... however I believe he took his music serious which was seriously bad. His songs are degrading to women, racist, and just sick. I mean look at the song Kill The Children Save The Food... he talks about killing black children.
GG is definitely the god of scum punk... it was what it was. So rest in piss GG.

Really? How was it playing with him? Did he spit on you? Threw crap at your face or something like that?. By the way he died a long time ago though, in 1993 .

No I think I would have stabbed him had he done that, he showed up late, was wasted when he got there...threw things at the audience and spit but didn't do his onstage shitting.. GG was pretty far gone by then.. I was never a big fan just had the opportunity to play. As far as I'm concerned there are no rock stars in punk we're all equals so at the time it was no big deal to me. Shit I didn't realize it has been that long since he died like I said never been a big fan.......

I hate gg allin, there was nothing creative or innovative about him whatsoever, just an annoying obnoxious piece of shit. Same with El Duce and The mentors.
I'm too pissed to be a folksinger I'm not a punk but that's where I'm coming from I'm not too into music but I got so much of it inside I'm not a drunk aggressive idiot And I used to believe in punk I thought it might offer something new but punk ripped me off cheated me out of something close to me I'm trying to move along but some roots reach pretty far down I'm interested in politics and action In trying to create something that's not I feel like I'm in the middle of everything There is no niche for me And I believe in anarchy in trying to live autonomously I try not to walk my talk but to talk my walk - $ETH!

A friend of mine was at the show where GG punched that one black show goer in the documentary. I thought some of his antics were funny, like holding a lecture completely naked, and other stuff just lame, like peeing on people. But hes dead so.
...i know you gentlemen have been through a lot, and when you find the time id rather not spend the rest of this winter TIED TO THIS FUCKING COUCH

i think there are plenty of ways to make punk shocking without reducing yourself to the caricature that gg created.

Agreed. He was just like an over the top (way over the top) Sex Pistols, which makes/made people think even less of punk and the people in the scene. Not that we should care what people think, but it boils down to it being detrimental to the message.

I was gonna post pretty much the same thing last night... it is so true people like GG and other "shock-punks" just play into the mainstream media image of what punk is. I mean how often to punks make the news in a positive way (rarely where I live). The mainstream wants punks to look bad, it sells more papers, and it helps to keep us down when the whole society is against us because of idiots like GG who get the attention of the media. I would like to see some punks serving food not bombs, and building community centers and free markets and all of the other great things that punks are involved with on the news for a change. I would like to see a day where someone sees someone with a mohawk and says "there goes a good person who actually cares about there community" .
