No I didn't think so lol. I recommend these: texhnolyze (especially this one) serial experiments lain lament of the lamb read or die neon genesis evangelion gantz elfin lied
i used to like anime... like 10 years ago i started to draw with mangas like dragon ball z.... and look where i am now hahaha
i think the one i liked was called Ninja Scrolls... (if thats the one where the woman has sex with men to kill them)
Back in the day me and my sister used to go to the video shop every week and get out some anime. Agreed on Neon Genesis being awesome. Haven't watched any in quite a long time though.
My friend Tim showed me some anime series a few years ago that I enjoyed, but I can't remember the names of them right now.
Evangelion and Lain are awesome. The first season of Death Note is pretty tight. Check out this anime adaptation of a Kafka short story: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_XpvlrOcEcM
Well shit I think Evangelion is the most overrated anime ever, however much I really love that series. But I think TEXHNOLYZE is the most underrated and best one ever. I hate stupid romance cliches and dumb shit like that and Texhnolyze is very bare of that. "Texhnolyze is one of the few animes with balls".. I also like Boogie Pop Phantom or whatever the hell its called.
i want a copy of the lament of lamb series, but it's virtually impossible to watch it in america haha
Cowboy Bebop is damn good. I like Ninja Scroll too. For the most part I prefer animation to be funny. Aqua Teen Hunger Force in particular.
well that isn't anime it's american/western cartoons the best american cartoon ever made was peanuts/charlie brown and snoopy ect. rip shultz.
Yep I'm aware that ATHF is not anime. Just saying that's what I prefer as far as animation goes. Cowboy Bebop is my favorite anime.
I find it typical no one's mentioned Kenshin yet. Though completely over the top it was a nice anime Also Blade of the Immortal was cool, Berserk was alright 'till they started adding the annoying demon-shit and Dual was interesting as well (though it could've been far more elaborate than they actually made it).
hmmm, if you were aware of how christian the peanuts strip actually is (and there are books about it) would you still feel the same? Off topic I know, but oh well... there is already a thread somewhere on cartoons in general... Anime is good, but i find it kind of hard to watch. Another good one i haven't seen mentioned is Akira. Good shit.
Akira's anime was cool, but I prefer the manga, to be honest. Way more refined and intricate. They should've turned it into a mini-series or something.
Yay for anime. People always talk about Evangelion but I've never had a chance to watch it. Maybe when school is over I'll rent it. Cowboy Bebop was great I liked Kenshin but I don't remember much about it. Same with Wolf's Rain. However, I did stay up late to watch InuYasha. Loved that one. Haven't seen Death Note, but the manga is pretty good. Have any of you guys heard of Axis Powers Hetalia? It kind of has a bad/good reputation...basically the countries of WWII are personified into humans, 'cept they kind of skip over WWII and just do stuff like before and after and historical side stories. Then again, it's kind of shaky territory, a lot of army outfits were changed a bit so they look less like nazi uniforms. There was a huge national court case in South Korea because they were upset over the SK character that was in it. I like it, I think it's cute/funny. Maybe not something most of the people here would watch but it's interesting. APH is known for having some really psycho yaoi fangirls, though.
Akira and Gantz are both awesome. I recommend Berserk and Fist Of The Northstar as well. I actually really enjoyed the first bunch of Bleach even though it's now become really stupid. I'm a big fan of all types of animation really from anime to the "western" cartoons. Aqua Teen Hunger Force is a big favorite , most of that adult swim stuff is pretty funny (Space Ghost, Metalocalypse, etc). One of my favorite animated films is The Plague Dogs which is based almost exactly on a novel (forget the author).
Indeed animation in general is awesome Have recently started watching the old-school Transformers, G.I. Joe and M.A.S.K. again
