I have always wanted to know what exactly should a male person in the pit do if a female decides to go into a slam pit? Reason why I ask is because this past week was the first time that ever happened to me and I was lost in terms of what to do. So if anyone could help that be good for the next time.

First of all, what do you mean by slam dancing? Is it just people bashing into each other or that hardcore-wanker shit with fists and feet? If it's the former, no problem, continue as you were. I've been to loads of gigs where women dive straight into those pits and no one gets hurt. If it's the latter, I can't help you, because I avoid that crap like a particularly bad plague.

Yeah, dude seriously. Pits aren't for beating the shit out of people. Push, shove, laugh, have fun. If your goal at a punk show is to make a few people bleed then you're in the pit for the wrong reasons. Unite not fight, bla bla bla. Peace.

Okay I avoid those types of pits where I like to call them the wanna-be Bruce Lee assholes. Went to a punk show a few years back in Massachusetts where Mouth Sewn Shut was playing and some asshole was doing the punching and kicking shit and I got fed up with that kid I staged dived right into him which he stopped and the singer just nodded at me for approval. I just like the pits where you push and shove into people as well as bash into other people in the name of fun.

Everyone knows what to expect when they jump in a "pit", if your not expecting to sweat or even bleed a little or get pushed around, then you have no business being in one, no matter the gender, size, age etc.
...i know you gentlemen have been through a lot, and when you find the time id rather not spend the rest of this winter TIED TO THIS FUCKING COUCH

When i'm in the pit, i'm trying to push ppl and be aggressive! (not punching or kicking)But then a 14 or 15 year old girl gets in the pit, you kinda have to take it easy on her. Mabey a shove at 1/3 strength but no more than that. i don't wanna be a jerk and push her to the ground.

No karate in the pit.

being female bodied, i think the issue is not whether you should "take it easy" on ladies (assuming we can't handle shit) or not but more of bro-ing down in the pit and comparing dick sizes while in there. nobody wants to dance and fuck around in the pit when bropunx are being shitty; trying to hurt folks. don't hold on to ladies waists, don't push people who aren't as big as you across the pit (when they are in or outside of it), don't punch folks in the tits, and pick on womyn. you don't need to do those things to other male bodied folks either. i once played a show where the entire pit was made up of what i call bropunx, keeping ladies and smaller folks out of the pit by being way too aggressive. during other bands sets i would not go in the pit because of this. so when we started our set my bassist and i told people that what they were doing wasn't cool, that they were dominating the show by trying to fight people and calling it a pit. we asked if they would put they're cocks away and allow other folks to enjoy dancing with they're friends at a punk show. sometime between when we had finished talking to the crowd and before we started playing, a third of everyone in the venue left. point is on this subject, i think, is don't be like that.^ and i'll kick yer ass if you make me feel uncomfortable in the pit
We stood still; for the first time did we know fear, and then pain. And we stood still that we might not spill this pain more precious than pleasure.
