Anyone on this board a fan of folk punk?
My favorite bands/artists are Andrew Jackson Jihad, Johnny Hobo and the Freight Trains, Wingnut dishwashers union, Mischief Brew, Ghost Mice and Spoonboy.
Just wondering if any one has anything to recommend I listen to.

I still remember that one time when Ohio police had a bomb squad pry apart a guy's bike after someone saw a "this bike is a pipe bomb" sticker on it

I quite like Blackbird Raum and Defiance Ohio, never heard of the others I'll have to give them a listen. Gypsy-ish wise I've only really listened to Gogol Bordello and I absolutely love them. Saering wrote:dwtcos wrote:Wearing a This Bike is a Pipe Bomb t shirt right now!

check out the stuff uploaded here by $eth! Good anarcho punk acoustic... so i guess it could be consdiered anarcho-folk
I'm too pissed to be a folksinger I'm not a punk but that's where I'm coming from I'm not too into music but I got so much of it inside I'm not a drunk aggressive idiot And I used to believe in punk I thought it might offer something new but punk ripped me off cheated me out of something close to me I'm trying to move along but some roots reach pretty far down I'm interested in politics and action In trying to create something that's not I feel like I'm in the middle of everything There is no niche for me And I believe in anarchy in trying to live autonomously I try not to walk my talk but to talk my walk - $ETH!

The Astronauts are a good mix of folk and punk.

Levellers. They do a pretty sweet cover of Zounds' Subvert.
Off topic but the band LUSH does an even better cover of Zounds' Demystification.
