Sounds like Viking Metal. I still listen to Bathory now and again, even their Viking stuff. I know it's controversial (not even sure if 'controversial' is the right word to use here. Basically, it sucks! lol) A) because of the strong patriarchal element (hence, very few women in Viking Metal), and B) the often nationalistic ideals. I don't know anything about Miracle Of Sound.
EDIT: I'm not against Vikings or Viking inspired music per se, just that some bands/ people often have very scewed ideas of Vikings. "They're just misunderstood" lol :D

Well, I also have some metal today, it's a spot of Death Metal by Bolt Thrower.

I just read he's an Irish producer/ songwriter/ singer who covers a vast range of genres & styles often inspired by his favourite video games.

Yeah, Valhalla Calling is just one of the songs he does. He also has Game of Thrones ones too. I do listen to some Viking stuff and yeah, there's not a lot of women in that genre. However, there are folk groups like SKALD that have women in them.

Ooo nice. Got your not-so-favourite song by Mourning Ritual lol :D

He seems harmless enough. Yeah, I do like that sound and the atmosphere of the music... and the whole pagan thing is pretty cool too. I like how it respects nature (well, it worships nature but still...) as opposed to "our" fucking religion/s. Christianity reminds me of the Borg, who just want to assimilate everyone and destroy everything it can't assimilate.
Yeah there are a few but I meant in the Viking metal genre. I know of one female-fronted Viking metal band but apparently she's not allowed to participate in the songwriting. In other words: she's got fuck all say in the band (except sing the lyrics given to her).
Uuuh, you're lucky you're in Australia right now, haha :D

    Listening to NoRMAhl
