The Asylum Kids were a punk/ rock band from South Africa which existed from 1980-1983.

I've got some more Asylum Kids (from Joburg, or Johannesburg, if you like). While I admittedly don't like every song on their LP, I do like a lot of them. I think they were quite an exceptional band.

This one's from their 12" Ep 'Solid Principles' from 1982

Ooo nice. Yeah, Sound Adventures is good at that. Got another one from Wolfwalkers, but from an Irish band called Kila.

Hey, thanks mate! I hadn't heard that solo stuff before, well except for that 'maggots' record. But this stuff's more like hard rock but I like it! Anything with her on vocals sounds good.

Sick Of It All: I've still got a tape with them somewhere that a mate copied for me. I remember listening to it a lot while driving around for work! (the other side of the tape had Biohazard on it, I remember that, lol).
The Oppressed song is really nice.

Nice song. So I finally watched Wolfwalkers. "Delightful" I think was the word you used to describe it. Yeah, I can definitely concur. Lovely story and beautiful hand drawn artwork. At least it looks hand drawn. It really is a work of art though.

Yeah, Cartoon Saloon hand drew most of the scenes, except the wolf vision stuff, as that was done with some 3D imaging.

I've got some more from Otyken.
I found out a bit about the meaning of the name - apparently Otyken is a word for a sacred land where warriors would lay down their arms and talk.

This is another collaboration/ remix with some awesome throat singing.

This one's just mesmerizing. You should be able to turn on the subtitles if they're not on by
default. It's amazing when you consider that all these songs are really ancient. Okay, they've been somewhat modernized but in essence they are old Siberian folk songs.
