Terrorizer is a Grindcore band from Los Angeles / Huntington Park, California. After releasing a handful of demo tapes in 1987 and 1988 and splitting up in 1988, they recorded the full-length album "World Downfall" posthumously in the now legendary Morrisound Recordings studio (Tampa, Florida) with engineer-guru Scott Burns. At the time of this recording Terrorizer's original bass player Garvey was in jail so David Vincent (MORBID ANGEL) filled in.

Another interesting fact is that "World Downfall" consists of about 30% Nausea songs, including the title track.

Terrorizer's lyrics were typical socio-political grindcore lyrics with animal rights / environmental topics handled as well.

The band members later joined other bands like NAPALM DEATH (Jesse), MORBID ANGEL (Pete) and NAUSEA (Garvey).

In 2006 Terrorizer released their long-awaited second album "Darker Days Ahead" which consists of half old demo songs and half new material. Shortly after the release of the album, Jesse Pintado passed away on 27 August 2006.

The band has been reactivated in 2008 demo-ing new songs. Guitar duties are now taken over by Katina, guitarist in Resistant Culture.

    Terrorizer Biography

Terrorizer is a Grindcore band from Los Angeles / Huntington Park, California. Another interesting fact is that "World Downfall" consists of about 30% Nausea songs, including the title track.

The band has been reactivated in 2008 demo-ing new songs. Guitar duties are now taken over by Katina, guitarist in Resistant Culture.

According to the press release their third album "Hordes of Zombies" was recorded in 2011, slated for release on Season of Mist on 24 February 2012. However the album has reportedly already been recorded in 2009 before Pete Sandoval underwent back surgery.

    ---

Terrorizer is a death metal/grindcore band formed in 1986 in Los Angeles, California, United States. After disbanding in 1989, its members gained recognition as members of other influential extreme metal bands, such as Morbid Angel (David Vincent, Pete Sandoval) and Napalm Death (Jesse Pintado).

The group released their first album "World Downfall" in 1989. This album is considered immensely influential by many extreme metal aficionados. Then in 2003 an album containing two rehearsal sessions of the band from 1987 was released.

In early 2005 it was rumoured that Terrorizer were to reform with their original line-up, this has been confirmed by band members and they have recently announced that they have been working on new material for the long-awaited (as yet untitled) studio album.

In 2006 Terrorizer issued a new album "Darker Days Ahead". Which was a formidable come back for Terrorizer. Sadly, on 26th of August, Jesse Pintado
(the guitarist of the band) passed away in the hospital, located in Ridderkerk, Holland, where he lived the last years of his life. He will be missed by everyone.

As of June 2009, Terrorizer has reformed again and has been working on new material for a possible new release. One new demo track, "Hordes of Zombies", is available for streaming on the band's MySpace page. However, it is unclear whether they will be hiring a replacement for Pintado.

from this list I've only heard ASSEL, who are pretty awesome, and I've heard of Nasum. I always thought they were a black metal band or something, I didn't know they actually play/ed grindcore. I'll have to check them out. Thanks :)

They are indeed grindcore and have never played anything else! But they dropped the punk component of grindcore during the years and shifted more towards the metal inspired grindcore. Still great though, not just my cup of tea. My interest in them goes up to Human 2.0, after that their albums became a bit same same to my ears.

Edit: And yeah they played, many of the bands Mieszko was singing/playing guitar in (Nasum, Krigshot, Genocide Superstars etc) pretty much stopped when he died in the Indian Ocean tsunami in 2004. He was on holiday in Thailand to celebrate his 30th birthday.

I hate when they do that. The lyrics usually tend to shift as well at that point from my experience.
Oh wow... some holiday! that's tragic.
