The name SM-70 comes from an East German directional antipersonnel mine, SM-70 (Splittermine Modell 1970), developed specifically to combat Republikflucht across the Inner German Border into West Germany.

Prominent in the mid to late '80s, SM-70 was a German hardcore punk band, one of Germany's precursors to grindcore and powerviolence. Their blinding speed took cues from Siege and Deep Wound. Lanzelot Records was active from 1984-1988 and revived 2004-2007, run by Andreas Thomé.
It was the name for the label and later also the name for the mail order distribution for fanzines, tapes and vinyl. That distribution entity was previously (1984-1986) known as Spandauer Fanzine Vertrieb or short bSFV/b. Also connected to l136195.
