Joye and other Dreads is a punk art project. We work with music, film, video installations, stories and exhibitions.

In the not-so-distant future, humanity has been reduced to urban areas. People have been driven out of rural areas and forced to live in megacities. In order to guarantee the smooth flow of production and consumption, the majority of processes are automated. Drones are used to transport residents, while small robots keep the neighbourhoods clean. The smooth running of the city also includes controlling emotions by taking tablets.
In the town of New Hope, a person is presumed dead after an accident. As a result, he discovers huge underground production facilities outside the city where slaves have to work to guarantee the city's wealth. At this moment, he decides to kidnap Joye, a former work colleague from the city. In their resistance against the city's system, they not only have to learn how to bring about change, but also how to create a new society: as a growing group, they have to find new ways of dealing with conflicts and question everyday things. In New Hope, the group is categorised as a terrorist threat, giving them the name "Dreads" by the security authorities.

One question they are discussing in this context: What is possible in the future if potential security technologies are consistently developed further? Other central themes of the story are: Loneliness, despair, self-determination, sustainability and the development of non-autoritan perspectives
Another character in the story is November the First. He lives in the megacity of Babylon. Feeling excluded, he has decided to destroy Babylon.
Joye and other Dreads is a project that tells a dystopia with different means. The story is told in the form of a novel. All the texts in the musical presentation refer to events in the novel. In addition, graphics and video projections are used to deepen the content or to emphasise other aspects.

The first part of the character "November the First" from the story "Joye and other Dreads". In the part of the video, the hopelessness of the character is made clear, who feels excluded in a monitored and organized world. All people in his world seem to be the same. There is no way out. So is there only one way out?

This is the second video for the character "November The First", who grows up in the novel about the protagonist Joye in the town of "Babylon" and understands why he is different from the humans. The traumatized character "November The First" has been an outsider his whole life. Loneliness and doubt lead him to make a decision.

This is the third part of the triology about "November The First", a character centred around the protagonist Joye. In this part, November arrives at a refugee camp outside the town of New Hope and describes his feelings behind the barbed wire fence.
